Jefee's Pizza is Coming Back to Chicago!

The renowned McKinley Park pizza joint Jefee's Pizza has been kept alive through semi-retired pizzaiolo Anthony "Tony" Caccitolo, who has been returning from Italy every fall to make more of his legendary pies for throngs of fans who track him down when he's visiting and making pizza in the Chicago area.

This was spelled out in the September 17, 2021, article " Legendary McKinley Park-Style Pizza Returns in Weekend Pop-ups " by Ankita Mukhopadhyay. Last fall, Tony made his pizzas in Bridgeview, Illinois, at the Moose club.

I had a chance to try Jefee's pizza then and found it to be an astoundingly good version of the "true" Chicago-style pizza based on a thin cracker crust. Tony's rendition combined perfect crust char, crunch and chew with structural capabilities to hold a ton of tasty ingredients without ever getting soggy. Jefee's Pizza is brilliant stuff that gives Vito and Nick's a run for the money any day of the week.

Tony's new home this fall for Jefee's Pizza is the Des Plaines Theatre , 1476 Miner St., Des Plaines, Illinois. He's partnering with the theater and its restaurant for a special Jefee's pop-up for several Sundays, starting on Oct. 16, 2022.

Because it's connected to the theater, there's the opportunity to take in its Sunday shows while dining, including lineups like the Gipsy Kings, Rolling Stones and Kenny Rogers tributes, and more.

If you're a pizza fan and haven't yet tried Jefee's, here's your chance! Below is a photo from last fall of Tony and a bunch of his fans.
